Terms & Conditions

Effective 13 September 2026 · Last updated 13 September 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and AtoZ Apps Studio Pvt Ltd ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Dukan Khata application (the "App"). By installing or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.

1. What the App is, and what it is not

Dukan Khata is a record-keeping tool. It helps you write down the amounts you have given to, or received from, your customers and suppliers, and it adds those amounts up into a running balance for you.

It is not a bank, a payment system, a wallet, a lender, or a financial institution. It does not hold, move, transfer, or settle money. It does not issue credit, and it does not collect debts on your behalf. Nothing in the App is an offer of financial services.

2. Your records, your responsibility

You enter every figure yourself. We do not check, verify, audit, or guarantee any of it. Every balance the App shows is arithmetic performed on the entries you supplied — nothing more. If an entry is wrong, the result is wrong.

You are responsible for making sure your records match reality, that the terms you set with your customers are lawful, and for keeping whatever books, invoices, or tax records the law requires of your business. The App is not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. For any of those, consult a qualified professional.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use the App. The App is intended for business record-keeping by traders, shopkeepers and small businesses.

4. Where your data lives, and how you can lose it

The App stores your records on your own device. We do not host a copy on any server of ours.

Please understand the consequence: if you lose or reset the device, uninstall the App, or clear its data, and you have not enabled backup, your records are gone. We cannot recover them, because we never had them.

Two things are available to protect you, and both are your choice:

  • Google Drive backup. If you sign in, a copy is kept in a private folder in your own Google Drive. That copy is yours and sits under your Google account; we have no access to it and cannot restore it for you.
  • Data export. You can export a complete copy of your data and keep it wherever you like.

We recommend using at least one of them.

5. Using the App on more than one device

If you use the App on two devices with the same backup, the App merges the two ledgers rather than letting one replace the other. Where the same record was edited in both places, the App keeps the more recent version according to the rules built into it. This is designed to avoid losing data, but it means an older edit can be superseded by a newer one. If two people are recording entries at the same time on different devices, check the result.

6. Messages you send

The App can help you compose a reminder or a statement for a customer. When you send it, it is sent by you, from your own device, using your own messaging, SMS, or WhatsApp account. We do not send it, do not see it, and are not a party to it.

You are responsible for what you send and to whom. You agree not to use the App to harass, threaten, defame, or intimidate anyone, to pursue an unlawful debt, or to send messages that break any law that applies to contacting people — including consent, do-not-disturb, and unsolicited-commercial-message rules. Repeated or abusive messaging is your liability, not ours.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App; not to use it to store unlawful content; and not to use it in any way that breaks the law or infringes someone else's rights.

8. Third-party services

If you enable backup, your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy, and by your relationship with Google. If you send messages, the same is true of your messaging provider. We are not responsible for those services, their availability, or their handling of your data once it reaches them.

9. Intellectual property

The App, its design, and its content (other than your data) belong to us and are protected by law. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own business. Your records remain entirely yours.

10. Availability and changes

The App is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, and we may update these Terms — material changes will be surfaced in the App, and continuing to use it means you accept them.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, nor for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business, arising out of your use of or inability to use the App — including any loss caused by an inaccurate entry, a failed or absent backup, or a merge between devices.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the App, from messages you send through it, or from your breach of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. Sections 2, 4, 6, 11 and 12 survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
